COMING TO A TV SCREEN NEAR YOU

Fahrenheit author Ian Patrick's debut novel Rubicon has been optioned by the BBC

“Never listen to anyone who says it can’t be done. Live your dreams, people."

We are very proud to announce that Ian Patrick’s debut novel Rubicon has been optioned by the BBC with a view to making a 6 episode television series.

This is a dream come true for Fahrenheit and for Ian. From the very first moment we read the manuscript we knew it would be perfect for TV and now it seems the BBC agree.

Here’s what Ian had to say about the news…

“Did I ever think I would be asked by my publisher to say something about Rubicon being optioned by the BBC? Of course not! What debut novelist would? But here I am doing exactly that. It all feels completely surreal, yet I’m overjoyed at having my work recognised as worthy enough to adapt for TV. Fahrenheit Press took a huge gamble taking me on. I was unknown and been rejected many times. That’s the beauty of Fahrenheit. You’re judged on your writing and nothing else. I wrote it but it’s a Fahrenheit team effort that I got this far. I include everyone who’s promoted my book on social media and supported my writing within that team. Never listen to anyone who says it can’t be done. Live your dreams, people.”

Less than a year ago Ian was an unpublished and unknown author, now his book Rubicon is highly praised by crime fiction fans, he’s got dozens of 5 Star reviews on Amazon and he's just signed a deal with the BBC.

Ian has worked hard and he never gave up, even when things got tough, he's an inspiration and he deserves all the success this will inevitably bring him.

We hope the prospect of Rubicon’s anti-hero Sam Batford appearing in his own TV series will introduce loads more people to one of the best crime fiction characters of recent years.
